In winter Tashmore changes beyond recognition — and that is its charm. The water turns steel-grey, a quiet winter sky stands over it, and the shore is almost empty. Breez is open all year, and winter here is the season for those who like their rest unhurried: not a beach day, but a calm day by the water.
The main winter pleasures are warm ones. The Finnish sauna with its lounge and herbal teas warms you up after a walk along the shore; billiards and table tennis under a roof fill the evening; the rooms and cottages are heated. The barbecue areas work in winter too: shashlik in frosty air is a pleasure of its own, and firewood is on site.
Fishing does not stop in winter: fish live in the reservoir all year round, and you can still sit with a rod on the shore — quietly, with no summer competition for the good spots. The kitchen will cook your catch.
The summer pool and the boat rental are closed until the warm season — their cards on the site say so honestly. In return, winter is the easiest time to book the best cottage: fewer guests, more choice, and sometimes the whole grounds are yours.
The winter day is short and the sunsets come early and low: the sun goes into the water by about five in the evening, and it is more beautiful than any filter. Come with friends for a weekend or as a couple midweek: silence, sauna, hot tea and water to the horizon.
The drive from Tashkent takes about an hour; if it is snowing, call us before you set out and we will talk you through the road.
